Gulf Coast State College, formerly known as Gulf Coast Community College, is a state college, located in Panama City, Florida, United States. The institution was founded in 1957 by the Florida Legislature.[2] The college is a member institution of the Florida College System.

This is a coeducational institution that offers associates degrees and bachelor degrees. On January 13, 2011, the college was renamed Gulf Coast State College. The school had previously been named Gulf Coast Community College.[3]

Leadership

The current President is A. James Kerley.[4] He has been leading the college since June 2007, and he is the 5th President in the history of Gulf Coast State College. GCSC also has a Board of Trustees which helps to administer the college as well.

Athletics

Gulf Coast State College Athletic teams are nicknamed the Commodores and participate in men's basketball, men's baseball, women's basketball, women's softball, and women's volleyball. The current athletic director is named Gregg Wolfe and he has been serving in this capacity since 1992.[5]

Alumni Status is open to all graduates of Gulf Coast State College, all former students of GCSC who regularly matriculated and left Gulf Coast Community College in good standing.
